TCT offers several types of transit service, including
fixed-route, flex-route, dial-a-ride, and paratransit
service.
Fixed-Route Service
Fixed-Route Service (Routes 1, 2, 3 & 4) offers
regular weekday service between Sonora, Jamestown,
Columbia, Twain Harte and Sierra Village. Buses operate
Monday thru Friday between 6:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m.
A map of the routes is available, or you can
pick one up on any bus or at various locations in
the community.
The Regular Fixed Route fare is $1.00 for one-way
travel within a zone. A 25¢ discount off the
regular fare is offered to seniors (55+), youth (2-18
years of age) and persons with disabilities.
Transfers are required for continuing travel across
zones and are available for 25¢ for Fixed Route
and 50¢ for Dial-A-Ride. Transfers are valid
for the next available bus to complete your one-way
travel. Layovers are not allowed.
Link your trips together! Bicycling is great fun
and wonderful exercise. That's why Tuolumne County
Transit offers bicycle rack service on fixed route
buses. Space is on a first-come first-served basis,
and riders are responsible for loading and unloading
their own bicycles.
Flex-Route Service
Flex-Route service (Route 4) is offered on the Tuolumne
route. Flex-Route service means that the bus travels
along the Tuolumne Route on a regular basis, and
that the bus will deviate off the route to pickup
passengers who have made prior reservations for pickup
(per the conditions below). Requests for pick-up
deviations must be made one hour in advance to the
transit supervisor by calling 532-0404. All scheduled
stops along the deviated routes are estimates and
may arrive and depart 5 minutes before or after the
scheduled stop time. Due to time constraints, not
all deviation requests may be honored. Pick-up times
are approximate and may vary. Please ensure you are
at the time point or pick-up location within this
window. Buses will not return for passengers who
were not ready. Route deviations will be offered
in areas that do not have Dial A Ride complimentary
service only. Please call the transit office at:
532-0404 for more information regarding route deviations.
Dial-A-Ride
Dial-A-Ride offers curbside pickup and dropoff service
to disabled persons with and without ADA Certification
and persons who are 55 years of age and older. Dial-A-Ride
services are also available to the general public
within specific service areas. For more information
regarding the Dial A Ride service please call the
transit office at: 532-0404 or consult the Dial
A Ride brochure.
Saturday Service
Saturday Service is available between the hours of
9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. to the general public within
Sonora, Jamestown, Columbia, Twain Harte, Soulsbyville
and Standard areas. Saturday Service is provided
through a curb-to-curb Dial-A-Ride service, requiring
advance reservations. For reservations call 532-0404.
